When using Listen360, clicking a "Send email" link uses a standard mailto: protocol. By default, your computer may try to open a desktop application, such as Outlook.
If you prefer to use a browser-based client, such as Gmail, you can configure your browser to handle these links automatically. Follow the steps below to set this up in Google Chrome.
Option 1
This is the easiest way to enable Gmail as your default email handler.
Open Gmail in your Chrome browser (mail.google.com).
Look at the right side of your URL address bar. You should see an icon that looks like two overlapping diamonds (Service Handler icon).
Click the icon and select Allow to let Gmail open all email links.
Click Done.
Option 2
If you don't see the diamond icon, the permission might have been blocked previously. You can reset it manually:
Open Chrome Settings.
Navigate to Privacy and security > Site settings.
Expand Additional permissions and select Protocol handlers.
Check the "Not allowed" list. If mail.google.com is listed there, remove it.
Return to your Gmail tab and refresh the page; the diamond icon prompt (Option 1) should now appear in the URL bar.
What to Expect
Once Gmail is set as your protocol handler, clicking any "Send email" link within the platform will automatically open a new Compose window in Gmail instead of launching a desktop mail app.
Note: These settings are browser-specific. If you switch from Chrome to another browser, you will need to perform these steps (which may vary) again in the new browser.
