Importing contacts allows administrators to upload large groups of customers at once using a CSV file. This method is commonly used when onboarding new accounts or adding contacts from external systems in bulk.
When to Import Contacts
Use contact imports when you need to:
- Add many contacts at once
- Upload contacts from a CRM or external system
- Prepare contacts for survey distribution
- Update existing contact information in bulk
Download the Contact Import Template
- Navigate to Contacts
- Navigate to Import Contacts in the submenu
- Click the Template button
The template contains all available contact fields required for the import.
Prepare the Import File
Open the CSV template in a spreadsheet editor, enter the contact information, and save the file.
Fields include:
- Location
- Name
- Phone
- Address
- Job/Project details
Each row represents a single contact.
Upload the Import File
- Navigate to Contacts
- Navigate to Import Contacts in the submenu
- Click Upload file
- Upload your file and confirm the import
The system will process the file and create contact records for each row.
Updating Existing Contacts
If the system detects a contact that already exists during the import, the import will update the existing record rather than create a duplicate. This behavior helps maintain a clean contact database and prevents duplicate survey recipients.
