If you need to create or update many users at once, you can use a CSV import. This method allows administrators to manage large teams efficiently.
When to Use User Imports
CSV imports are useful when you need to:
- Add multiple users at once
- Update user roles or permissions in bulk
- Modify report subscription settings
- Onboard users during account setup
Download the User Import Template
- Navigate to Account>Team
- In the top-right, click the three vertical dots for Options
- Select Import Users
- Click the Template button
The template contains the required fields for creating or updating users.
Prepare the Import File
Open the template in a spreadsheet application, enter the required fields for each user, and save the file.
- Company (the exact name of your location, franchise, division, etc., to which the user should gain access)
- First and Last Name
- Phone
- Type (Role)
Each row in the file represents one user.
Upload the CSV File
- Navigate to Account>Team
- In the top-right, click the three vertical dots for Options
- Select Import Users
- Click Upload file and upload your completed CSV file
- Confirm the import
The system processes the file and creates or updates user records.
How the System Handles Existing Users
If the import includes an email address that already exists, the system will update the existing user record. A duplicate user will not be created. This allows administrators to safely update user information without creating duplicate accounts.
